Project Control Department Lead

About the role:

 

  • PROJECT CONTROL DEPARTMENT LEAD
  • Based in Madrid/Remote.
  • Multinational Chemical Company

Mission:

 

  • Responsible for overseeing all aspects of project control management including planning, monitoring, cost control, risk management and controlling project activities to ensure adherence to schedule, budget, quality standards, and scope ensuring the successful execution and delivery of projects within the company.
  • Represent the Owner in the planning, cost control and risk management through all execution of the project.
  • Leading the coorporate project control team within the engineering and project execution division.
  • She/He will work closely with the EPC Contractor Project Control Team and own resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement project control strategies, procedures and methodologies aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring alignment with project milestones and deadlines.
  • Development of an integrated Master Schedule including all other workstreams such as permitting, power supply agreements, offtakes, etc.
  • Productivity ratios and resources calculations (Engineering and Construction manhours), cost control management, manage project budgets, and implement cost control measures to ensure projects are delivered within budgetary constraints.
  • Critical Path Methodology and proactive approach to propose technical solutions to reduce Schedule and final expected cost;
  • Internal reporting, effective communication, and collaboration among project stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, vendors, and senior management.
  • Risk Management, identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, working closely with project teams to develop risk response plans and minimize the impact of potential threats.
  • Ensure compliance with project management best practices, company policies.
  • Take responsibility for project performance and manage the company's project portfolio.

Skills required:

 

  • MsC Engineering, 10 years + experience as project control manager EPC, Site Construction experience. PMP is a plus.
  • Experience in Large Industrial projects (>200m$) EPC.
  • Direct and full control of Primavera P6; EWP/CWP Methodology. Project Cost control principle and tools handling.
  • Risk Analysis.
  • Leadership, communication skills.
  • Project management skills
  • Strong team spirit.
  • Language: English high level, Spanish is a plus.
