Misión:
• The Project Operations Director is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the overall operations of the company, ensuring seamless integration and coordination between the Projects, Purchasing, and Engineering departments. The role requires strategic leadership, operational excellence, and in-depth industry knowledge to drive efficiency, ensure project delivery, and support business growth within the oil and gas.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company’s long-term vision and business objectives, ensuring cross-functional coordination and strategic direction across key departments.
• Provide effective leadership and guidance to department heads in Projects, Purchasing, and Engineering, promoting collaboration, accountability, and alignment with corporate goals.
• Lead and support change management initiatives aimed at increasing productivity, streamlining operations, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Ensure the successful planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, with a strong focus on meeting timelines, staying within budget, and maintaining high-quality standards.
• Track and evaluate project performance using key metrics, proactively resolve complex project issues, and implement strategies to mitigate potential risks and delays.
• Ensure engineering teams deliver technical solutions that meet project requirements, client expectations, and all relevant safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Encourage innovation within engineering practices and promote the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to enhance process efficiency and technical excellence.
• Oversee procurement strategy development, vendor negotiations, and contract management to ensure timely, cost-effective sourcing and optimal supplier performance.
• Manage departmental budgets, resources, and operational KPIs, driving cost-efficiency and maximizing return on investment. Regularly report progress and improvement plans to executive leadership.
• Mentor and support the development of department managers and senior staff, build high-performing teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and uphold Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards across all operations.
• Master of Engineering with more than 10 years of experience in project management in the Oil & Gas, Chemical or Energy sector. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Deep understanding of EPC project lifecycle
• Strategic planning and organizational skills
• High-level decision-making and problem-solving ability
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Proficient in project management tools and ERP systems
• Fluent in English (C1); Spanish
